Okay, so I'm a bad blogger. I opened this account and managed to *haphazardly* update with two posts. There are actually a number of *legit* reasons why I haven't updated in a while.
1. I would usually see a gadget that I would like to blog about but then forget about it. Yeah, maybe that's laziness too.
2. I.ph does not want to play nice with my Safari browser which I mainly use. Most of my bookmarked items are on Safari so it's a little annoying to have to fire up the Firefox browser. Which is really NOT that big a deal, I admit. So yeah, maybe that's laziness too.
3. I'll be starting my new job soon so I've been trying to enjoy life as a bum to the fullest. That means staying up really late, waking up late in the afternoon and basically just trying to avoid being productive in any way. But yeah, that could also be laziness too.
4. And finally, probably the real reason why I have been on hiatus, is this.
I activated my World of Warcraft subscription again. After months of bugging my boyfriend to sign up, we are now doing quests together in Azeroth. (Awwww, how sweet! haha)
I've always known that once I start playing this game, there will be no turning back. I've witnessed my passion for playing games (read: obsession) when I played the Devil May Cry series like there was no tomorrow, although that was mostly to sigh at the man candy that Dante is. I also lost social time to Sims and Diablo. Let's not even include the weekends (and money) that I spend in Katipunan playing DoTA and Counter Strike with friends or the days I spent trying to beat the mission in DJ Max Portable 2 on PSP.
While I will be the first one to say that I am no hardcore gamer, I can get pretty into the game. While we are both noobs on WoW, that doesn't stop us from spending a lot of time on the game. In fact, the only reason I've managed to update this blog is because the WoW server is down due to maintenance.
It's been a fun few days though, and I'm really glad that my boyfriend signed up for WoW. Before, I played a Night Elf hunter and felt quite out of place that I could not do certain quests alone. I mean I could, but I would die. Haha. It's not really that we're finally on quests together, but more than that, we have a common hobby that we can enjoy together.
I admit that it's pretty cool to have someone who shares the same interest and can actually NOT roll their eyes at me when I excitedly narrate how I finished a quest and learned a new spell. It's even cooler when you have a mom who tries to understand the game and listens intently to us talk about the battle plan for the next quest. (Or maybe mom just didn't have a choice since she was stuck in the car with us. haha)
Here's our little family. Yes, as you can tell, we are both uber noobs. He's a Human Warrior and I am a Human Warlock. That's my little imp on the right. My voidwalker had a tantrum and did not want to join the family picture.
So we set our next date. We will go to CD-R King and buy headsets so we can do strat in game. I use an iBook so I am looking for a headset that's compatible so that I don't have to yell at my built in microphone near the screen. My dad has a generic headset but the plug/jack comes in 2, one for the mic and one for the earphones. My iBook only has one port so I have to look for a headset (preferebly generic and inexpensive) that I can use for WoW. Is there such a thing? I found this on the CD-R King website but I don't know if it's compatible. I only like it because it's white and matches my iBook.
So there. Geek hat off. Thank you.
—> Next time, I promise to talk about something less geeky. Like my search for a new laptop bag. My loyal Hedgren bowler-type bag has gone to bag heaven. *sniff*
WoW cool. I have downloaded a copy of WoW. Hehe. But I don’t know the subscription process. Can you teach how to things work from installation to subscription? Thanks!
